Description of the Committee

We work on issues and actions that contribute to dismantling structural racism in our communities, institutions, and our local, state, and federal governments. It is structural racism that perpetuates the ongoing economic, educational, and health disparities seen in racial groups. Racial equity is the central goal of our anti-racist work. As social change organizers, we can bring racial justice into all areas of our work and achieve fundamental and systemic levels of change in society.

Our Goals

Working on reparations as an effective approach to understand the history, presence, and impact of racism on our society.  This includes:

  • Work on existing local, state, or federal bills or measures to enact reparations for Black communities affected by systemic and structural racism.
  • Meet with our local, city, state, and federal representatives to introduce the bill or measure.
  • Work with national groups working on reparations
